如何申请

申请联邦学生资助似乎是一项艰巨的任务. Before starting the 过程，花点时间阅读下面的步骤，以便对将要发生的事情有一个想法.  

 

▼   Step 1: Complete Applications

应用 for Admission 

提交FAFSA 

  • 完成联邦学生援助免费申请(FAFSA) 每年 at http://fafsa.gov as soon 尽可能 for the upcoming school year. 

  • The FAFSA determines eligibility for federal student aid (助学金、勤工俭学、学生贷款——包括家长津贴)以及其他资助 opportunities such as 奖学金.

▼   Step 2: Confirm FAFSA Was Received

当教育部收到FAFSA时，他们将处理申请 and send to institutions listed on the FAFSA. 如果美国在FAFSA上列出并且FAFSA正确填写，美国应该收到 the application results electronically. The Office of 金融援助 will then begin corresponding with the student.

 

All correspondence will be emailed. If the student has been admitted to USA, they are assigned a JagMail 电子邮件帐户. All  emails from the Office of 金融援助 will be sent to the student's JagMail account. If the student has not yet been assigned 由招生办公室提供电子邮件地址，电子邮件将发送到该电子邮件地址 indicated on the FAFSA.

 

学生应该确保经常检查他们的jagmail电子邮件地址并及时回复 AND ACCURATELY TO ALL REQUESTS FOR INFORMATION.

▼   Step 3: Finalize Aid Offer & 贷款流程


一旦学生的文件是完整和准确的，财政援助办公室处理 a student's aid offer. 这个过程大约需要两到三个星期.

 

学生 are offered 联邦援助 根据资格和资金的可用性. Depending on eligibility, the offer 可以包括助学金、兼职工作和/或低息贷款.

 

学生将通过电子邮件收到援助通知. Aid offer notifications are emailed 发到学生的JagMail账户，也可以在爪子上查看. If a student is offered funds 如果他/她想拒绝，应该尽快联系经济援助办公室 尽可能. 

 

如果学生接受了联邦直接贷款，并且是第一次申请联邦贷款， 主本票(MPN)和入学咨询必须在 http://studentaid.gov before loan funds can be disbursed. 

 

▼   Step 4: Receive 金融援助 Funds

所有财政援助信贷余额退款是由处理 Office of Student Accounting. 如果学生应在所有机构收费结束后退还信用余额 已付款，可通过以下两种方式发出退款:

 

  1. Electronic Direct Deposit (EDD): An EDD Authorization Form 必须在截止日期前至少30天与学生会计办公室完成 the expected aid disbursement date. 所有财政援助退款将以电子方式进行 付款后14天内存入学生支票帐户.

  2.  检查退款: 如果没有使用EDD，退款支票将邮寄到学生的邮寄地址  在支付之日起14天内记录.
